Sales Executive

For our filtration division (AQ Martest), we are looking for an experienced Sales Executive to support and further develop our growth across the European market.

The position is based from our offices in Antwerp and Europoort Rotterdam. From these locations, you will further expand our commercial activities throughout Europe with a strong focus on developing new growth markets.

As a Sales Executive, you will drive the expansion of our filtration business across Europe. You will strengthen long-term relationships with international filtration clients, identify additional customer needs, and translate our filtration services into tangible added value. You will also identify new business opportunities, develop relationships with prospective customers, and work closely with colleagues and the Chief Commercial Officer (CCO). In this role, you will maintain short communication lines with the management team.

Key responsibilites

Business Development & Prospecting

  • Independently develop and execute a sales strategy in cooperation with the CCO.
  • Conduct cold prospecting through telephone, email, and networking activities to identify and approach new customers, while proactively following up on incoming inquiries.
  • Build and maintain a high-quality customer portfolio focused on tank terminals, insurance companies, agencies, surveyors, shipowners, and the chemical industry.
  • Systematically visit existing and prospective customers domestically and internationally to present our services.
  • Actively participate in networking events, trade fairs, and industry gatherings.

Account Management

  • Actively manage an assigned customer portfolio as an Account Manager.
  • Maintain and strengthen existing customer relationships through proactive engagement and follow-up.
  • Manage and further develop international filtration accounts through structured follow-up, service-oriented advice, and the identification of additional business opportunities.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for commercial questions and opportunities.
  • Translate customer needs into practical solutions and proposals in collaboration with operational teams.

Strategic Collaboration

  • Work closely with the CCO to develop and implement commercial strategies.
  • Regularly coordinate with operational and administrative departments to ensure smooth service delivery.
  • Provide market intelligence and competitive insights during strategic meetings.

Administration & Reporting

    • Prepare monthly and quarterly reports on commercial activities, sales pipeline, and business results.
    • Maintain and follow up on inquiries, leads, and customer interactions in the CRM system.
    • Analyze sales figures and performance metrics.
    • Prepare customer visit reports.

Requırements

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a commercial, maritime or related field, or equivalent through experience.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in a similar commercial role within the tank storage, maritime, surveyor or chemical industry sectors.
  • Strong affinity with the oil & gas and chemical services industries.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Results-oriented, proactive and driven by targets.
  • Strong commercial insight and negotiation skills.
  • Experience in cold calling, prospecting and developing new markets.
  • Strong administrative and reporting skills.
  • Structured and independent working style with attention to detail.
  • Fluent in Dutch and English; knowledge of other European languages is considered an asset.
  • Strong drive to generate new business opportunities and close deals.
  • Hands-on mentality and perseverance.
  • Customer-focused and solution-oriented mindset.
  • Ability to quickly build trust with customers and colleagues.
  • Flexible and willing to travel internationally.
