MEG (Mono Ethylene Glycol) Recovery (10,000 MT)

A 10,000 MT cargo of fiber-grade Mono Ethylene Glycol (MEG) became contaminated with hydraulic oil during discharge in Antwerp.

Client: BASF

Duration: 72 hours

Location: Antwerp, Belgium

Results: Zero environmental emissions

The Challenge

A 10,000 MT cargo of fiber-grade Mono Ethylene Glycol (MEG) became contaminated with hydraulic oil during discharge in Antwerp. The off-spec parameters made the product unsuitable for delivery and caused immediate supply concerns for the customer.

Equipment Deployed

AQ MarTest deployed its on-site adsorber units, designed for the removal of fine oil droplets and organic contaminants. The operation was conducted under strict safety and environmental controls within a contained process setup.

Results Achieved

The adsorption filtration successfully removed all traces of hydraulic oil and restored the MEG to fiber-grade specification. The cargo was immediately accepted for delivery, preventing product loss and ensuring the client could fulfil contractual commitments.
